Throughout 2007, with pen in hand I pre-empted the flow of this year, trying to avoid the most direct message of 2007, often filling in the date one year in advance. It seemed that, as the number 7 suggests, it was an angular time; all was either stripped away, or fell away. There was no soft curve to work gently with, to cushion or embrace us.
A year of infinite possibilities
Now the harshness of 7 is over and we celebrate the new year with the flow of the number 8. I have no real understanding or knowledge of numerology but energetically the number 8 embodies all that was, is, and will be within its flowing form. This year’s number 8 will be a constant reminder of the boundless symbol of infinity; we have the opportunity to access its wisdom and be moved by its abundance.
The enclosed symbol of infinity, as shown by the number 8, represents endless space and time, without any limit or end. Whatever you add to or subtract from infinity, you will still be left with infinity. We too are infinite, always moving through stages of transformation.
At conception, a single cell’s first division/expansion becomes the shape of infinity, continuing the process of human development held within the womb and soft curving belly of mother until the moment of our birth, when we are complete within this human form, no longer shielded from the world into which we are now born. Throughout our life we follow the rise and fall, ebb and flow of experience, journeying back to Source, from separation to union.
Nature follows the flow of infinity and the re-birth of creation, and we have much to gain by witnessing her constant renewal. Follow the shape of the butterfly’s emerging wings; what better example of infinite transformation – harmony, balance, unity.
If we were more observant and obedient to this wisdom we might find ourselves living in more peaceful times.
Humans of course know better! And have spent aeons of time manipulating nature and world resources for ultimately selfish reasons. In this trivial pursuit we have become fragmented over time in the search for ourselves – heads and hearts separated, compassion giving way to cruelty.
The enquiring mind without the gentle heart as its companion travels a dangerous path. We train our minds to accept and reject that which we can only understand in a limited way, trying to work out and make sense of what may seem senseless. The mind can only grasp a minute portion of true understanding, withholding and manipulating information, blocking emotions from their healing expression. True understanding can only be balanced, moved to action by Divine Wisdom, expanded through the open heart.
Let the mind become the servant of the heart
What have you always dreamed you would do in you heart, but your mind somehow managed to talk you out of? Maybe it convinces you that you’re not good enough?
Clever enough? Rich enough? Worthy enough? Wise enough? The mind will provide an endless ream of excuses..... Well, ENOUGH! Your HEART knows the TRUTH. Let it speak to you, give it wings of expression and communication, allow honesty and integrity to lead you forward, and the mind will be silenced by the love felt within. Work with your energy body, not against it. Listen with the heart and it will carry the message of your purpose to all cells awaiting the command. Bringing hearts and minds together could well be the most successful peace campaign of 2008 using the all encompassing flow of infinity. Each time you write it, or see it in your daily life, or notice its form in nature, let it remind you of its invitation to transform, a knowing held at the core of each human cell.
A healing exercise
There are many good books on healing through the energy body – take a look here on the new Cygnus website – but I would like to suggest an exercise that I do daily, and throughout 2008 will focus on even more.
Visualise the heart at the centre of your being, the ruby blood flowing through each of its four chambers, each chamber representing a direction of the universe, North, South, East and West brought together at the crossroads of love.
Starting at the centre of the heart, trace the shape of infinity visually over and within the body, rising from an upper chamber of the heart outwards across the chest, over the shoulder, up to the crown and across the top of the head, descending via the opposite shoulder and entering the heart through the remaining upper chamber. Descend now through the opposite lower chamber and outwards towards the hip, following the down ward flow to the base chakra or feet, rising again through the opposite hip and re-entering the last chamber of the heart. Trace the shape as many times as you wish, forming and focusing on the central cross. Breathe into each chamber, inhale inspiration, exhale desolation, whisper your heart’s desire, listen to its message, give it space, expand all you are.
No other number has the amazing energy of 8. Zero encompasses all, or nothing; 8 gives the opportunity to cleanse and renew, crossing and re-tracing paths, bringing clarity, support, and guidance to the `heart of the matter`. We are spirit in matter. How heart warming to remember our true purpose!
This exercise encourages the gentle flow of infinity, to bring hearts and minds together, transforming the feculent matter of earthly life with the boundless grace of divinity – base to crown, renewed at the centre of the heart, as above so below.
Expansion here, at the crossroads, is a pretty awesome feeling. The journey from head into heart may be a long or a short one. Be gentle; slow the pace to grace.
So, for the coming year, dare your heart to take you where you have not ventured before: into infinity – and beyond. What a voyage it may be!
With love, the energetic vibration of life, Mary
