  Titchiner, Rose: OUR SOUL'S JOURNEY

Many folk this year seem to have been shaken from their core, just as the earth has been, and the shaking continues, with a purpose...

It is almost as though we need shaking out of our little boxes, our security and the things that we have clung onto as the 'known'. We find ourselves questioning all those things, that until now have given us our grounding, our sense of identity and our sense of place in the world. Some things we will keep but they will be very different, because we will have changed the way we look at them or the way we do things. It is almost as if we have to think the unthinkable, and express all the things that we have been afraid to express about our deepest needs.

It feels as though our hearts and our souls are pushing us to recognise what it is we really need – what we need to be involved in, what we need to let go of, and what our hearts and souls are calling us forward into. Often, what is calling us is way beyond what we have perceived to be how our lives would be, or what we ourselves would end up doing – how we would be living, or where our individual journeys might be taking us.

In this process, it is the journey that is the most important part. We are being forced to be in the moment. We cannot see the future, or how things will pan out, but we can feel the pressure of change, and it is almost irresistible, and very stressful when we try to resist it, or try to pin down where it is leading us. Because of this, it can feel very confusing, because we cannot see where we will end up, and our 'little minds' don't like that even if our Higher Self knows that all is in place and all will be well.

Many times, we think we've got the answer, only to realize that we haven't. We come up with this vision for the future, or that, or another. What feels right and true one day doesn't the next. It is almost as if we are being forced to become comfortable with the possibility of constant change and the flexibility of mind, heart and soul that we develop through this process.

This can all be very difficult for us if we like things to be known and predictable and reliable, and if we ourselves like to be predictable, dependable and reliable. It can be very painful to be always changing our minds! We need to let go our judgement of ourselves and each other, and we need to have a joint understanding that being changeable and getting used to being changeable is the nature of the process that we are in at the moment. We are called upon to develop a different kind of grounding, in love and responsiveness to the moment, and what is called for and appropriate in the moment.

We seem to be growing wings and learning how to fly, after so many years of learning how to be grounded and reliable, and it can feel very unsettling to have to find our grounding in our hearts, and in love, and in what is really real, moment by moment. We are becoming angels, and in doing so we need to learn how to take ourselves lightly, to shine our light, to be transparent and mutable and not to be so weighed down by all that we have created, or by how we think things 'ought to be'.

Our fearful inner child (not our divine child) is often terrified by all of this change. It is as though our fearful inner child represents all the limiting fears that have been created within the human psyche, and that we are each individually clearing at this time, as part of this leap into joy. Part of this process is learning how to divinely parent our inner child – to soothe it, to comfort it and to remind it that all is well. We are facing our deepest fears, because this is where we hold ourselves in limitation and in denial of who we really are, and this is where the transformation and liberation from suffering occurs.

As we follow the journey, day by day, we begin to realize what it is that we need to let go of, and what things will remain. This process is about love and about being true to ourselves, and trusting that whatever we eventually need to do will happen in such a way as to be loving to all concerned.

There is a need not to be afraid of expressing our deepest needs to each other – needs that may have remained buried for years, that perhaps we feel are selfish, or un-meetable. We need to be totally honest with each other about how we really feel about things. The defence and the hiding about how we feel and who we are has to be left behind.

In one sense, we need to be prepared to 'lose all to gain all'. We need to follow this journey with the deepest love for ourselves and for each other, and for each of our individual needs. This journey of clearing and sorting on every level – this opening of all the cupboards and drawers – may not lead us where we think it will lead!

In all of this there is a call to trust – to trust in love – to trust that all will unfold in love, in the best way for all concerned – and at the right time – and to trust that we will be supported on every level, in love. We have to let go with our 'little minds' because, from the perspective of the 'little mind' we can't see where this journey is taking us. Instead we need to trust the process and embrace the extraordinary insights, understanding and love that we experience day by day as we surrender to this process.

As Chan, guide of Ivy Northage, once said: 'All your needs will be met – but only day by day'. If you look back over our lives these last few years, we will see that all our needs have always been met, day by day. This is not going to change. It is all about love and truth. We really are here to realize heaven on earth, in this lifetime – to remember who we are and what all 'this' really is – and it's not about fear – and it's not a mental thing – it's an experience, and it happens right in the heart of our daily lives, and in recognizing and communing with the invulnerable and infinite divine – in each other and in everything.
