Sacred Spirit is one of our favourite CDs of all time. It unites ancient Native American chants with a modern pop background to produce a sound which is at once haunting and energizing. Traditional songs are sung with real emotion by the indigenous Fearsome Brave and the modern keyboard music, which accompanies the Indian flutes, rattles and cymbals by no means detracts from the authenticity of the sound. On the contrary, it adds atmosphere and draws you deeper into the core of the chant, weaving light techno beats with the deep, hand beaten Indian drums in a way that is unique. What's really good is that, as we join in with this ceremony, it continues to protect and nurture the Native American people - all royalties go to the Native American Rights Fund which works to restore the rights and uphold the religious freedom of the Indian people.
