Cooper, Diana: THE CODES OF POWER

Some years ago the angels impressed on me that I was to write a spiritual novel interwoven with sacred wisdom and esoteric secrets.

Soon after this I woke from a vivid dream about the release of a Scroll from Atlantis, which revealed the ancient mysteries. I knew this was the first part of The Silent Stones. A year later in one of life's extraordinary synchronicities I found myself in the Himalayas in the place shown to me in the dream, where Marcus is handed the Scroll!

A journey to Australia
Before I finished this book my guide, Kumeka, told me I must go to Australia for six months. He said that I needed the rest but I would return with the information for another novel. With some excitement I let my house and planned my trip to start in September soon after my 60th birthday.

At last I set out for the airport with a rucksack on my back and an open mind. I trusted my guides and angels would open the right doors for me in Australia. And they did!

No sooner had I arrived than I met three wise women who took me to an ancient Aborigine birthing site. One was a psychic who tuned in to give me a fascinating picture of what used to happen. Another was a ranger with whom I visited initiation sites, sacred caves, men's and women's sites and places where corroborees, or celebrations, were held. She was extremely knowledgeable and intuitive. Together we walked miles through the scrub and I had incredible visions of the old ways

Ethnic ‘cleansing’
In Sydney I was first told about the horrors the whites had perpetrated on the Aborigines. I had no idea of the extent of the cruelty. They were hunted down and killed as animals, their sacred sites desecrated and their beliefs derided. Strict apartheid was enforced. I was deeply shocked by the sheer inhumanity, shown by the ‘civilised' world and wanted to know how this could have happened. I learnt that the Aborigine feminine orientated culture is based on compassion and caring. In their inclusive society all are cared for and welcomed. Because of this many tribes greeted the invaders and tried to help them. They were shot.

The balancing of masculine and feminine
Every human has a desire for immortality. In their spiritual society this is fulfilled by a collective responsibility to pass on their traditions. Children are considered a gift from spirit and they belong to everyone. The Aborigines hold a vision beyond self, which results in a stable society. Theirs is the longest enduring culture there has ever been in the history of the planet.

On the other hand the western culture is based on the principles of declining Atlantis, which was masculine dominant. In such a society the desire for immortality focuses on passing wealth to the children. This creates a bias towards ambition and personal gain, which ultimately results in a hierarchical, fractured society. Because a masculine orientated culture honours mental achievement, the heart is closed down. Leaders who are not in touch with their own feelings cannot be in touch with the feelings of others, so that cruelty is inevitable.

When the masculine and feminine qualities are balanced, a caring, fair and ordered society results. This is the way of the future.

Meetings with elders
I asked my angels to help me meet some elders, so that I could learn more about their culture. Next day a new friend told me she could organise an introduction to Aborigine elders in Cooktown, a small place at the north-eastern tip of Australia, well beyond the bitumen road. I had no idea how I was going to get there but I set off and it took me over two months to reach it by bus, car and plane!

On the way I stayed for some time in the bush. Here I saw poisonous snakes and spiders, collected macadamia nuts and watched dolphins swimming in Byron Bay. Most important of all I talked to Aborigines. As soon as they heard that I was interested in their lives and bush lore, they brought me books to read and even fruits to try. I felt really honoured.

At last, after a rain soaked week in Cairns, I drove with another new friend to Port Douglas, where Marcus and Joanna learn that Helen has been captured. Next day we took the passable inland route to Cooktown, crossed the brown, swollen creek, where we were warned about crocodiles and shuddered as we passed the ominous Black Mountain. No Aborigine will approach this place. Apparently many people have disappeared here and it truly does feel evil. This is where Marcus and Joanna went through the most gruelling part of their initiation. I shiver to think about it. But they were sustained by their spiritual understandings and conviction.

My friend stayed one night in Cooktown, leaving the following morning before the creek became impassable, while I stayed on in the little town to explore. Yes, the mosquitoes in the Botanic Gardens are enormous and vicious! I walked through the rainforest, where Helen escapes from her captors into the jungle, visited all the places which feature in the book and met various elders. The café on the wharf really does exist and the owners are friendly and delightful, though they have no resemblance to the characters in the novel. I spent many happy hours here, chatting to anyone who happened to be passing and had a very interesting time.

The elder who I call Uncle George was the most noble, dignified and interesting man I have met. I made notes of our conversations, so that I could weave his wisdom and compassion into the novel. I remember my feelings after he told me of the genocide of his family and his people, then said, ‘Aborigines stand for reconciliation.' He bore no anger, only forgiveness and understanding. He really walked his talk.

This was very different from my interviews with some of the other elders! The one I call Uncle Philip was not of the same persuasion. Some of the die hard Queenslanders had extreme views but nevertheless told me extraordinary tales. I'll never forget ‘Ferdy' explaining to me the Aboriginal practice of ‘whistle cocking.' It must be the strangest form of contraceptive ever devised. I visited an Aborigine school, an old people's home and talked to many locals and was fascinated by their stories. Initially they were wary of me, but soon opened up about their culture and related the many stories, which are woven into the book.

Descendents of Lemuria
The more I read and learnt about the Aborigine myths and culture, the more interested I became, and the more certain that the peaceful future of the world lies in honouring the wisdom of the ancients.

Whenever I tuned into The Scroll, information about Atlantis flowed. It now revealed that the Aborigines were descendents of Lemuria, the civilization before Atlantis. They grounded the wisdom of that ancient time and are carrying it in trust for humanity. This was awesome information and I was intrigued by the way it is still evident in the Aborigine culture. They can still connect to the spirit of rocks, plants and animals and become one with them, while their lives are a living celebration of the natural world.

In Lemurian times the people were not fully physicalised. They inhabited crystalline dwellings, programmed specifically for those who lived there. For instance a baby might be placed in a cave of rose quartz crystal, programmed with an energy of loving harmony. To learn the sacred laws of the universe a fascinating technique was used. The vibration of different notes helps information to be accepted into the cellular structure of a person. So teachers and the angelic forces played certain notes, which are absorbed first by the crystals and then amplified so that the students can learn better.

I was sad to leave Cooktown, where most of the people were so kind and so generous with their time and help. At last I caught a tiny, gnat-sized plane back to Cairns. I wanted to travel overland to Uluru via Tennants Creek and it was quite an adventure crossing the flooded desert. We never did get through but had to fly to Darwin.

I really enjoyed Christmas at Alice Springs, where the dreadful tragedy strikes Joanna. Here I did meet Hissing Sid by a different name, with his dangerous snakes. We really were charged by a bull in the middle of the outback. I did sleep under the stars at Kings Canyon. I sat in flimsy boats while crocodiles snaked alongside. At least they felt flimsy to me! Almost everything in the novel happened to me. But not quite!

Becoming a Keeper of the Planet
The climax of the story takes place at Uluru, Ayres Rock, which is the keeper crystal of the planet. It is gloriously sited in the red centre and was as incredible as I had imagined, especially in the magnificent colours of sunset. Whenever I think of Uluru now I remember the crystal ball, containing the blueprint for our planet, finally completed by Marcus, Helen and Joanna, being returned to its sacred origins in a triumph of light over dark.

It was only when I finished writing the novel that my guides and angels told me that The Codes of Power really was a Lemurian initiation and that it is being re-introduced now as many people are ready to undertake it. When you pass the initiation by reading the book and living the Codes, a symbol is placed in your aura. You become a Keeper of the Planet and certain gifts are conferred on you. When enough people are initiates of the Codes of Power the blueprint of the planet will come to fruition.

I know that my trip to Australia and writing The Codes of Power has changed my life. It was a wonderful and exciting journey. I travelled from Sydney to Cooktown, from Darwin down the centre to Adelaide and across to Perth and back to Sydney via Melbourne and Canberra. I met many wonderful people and learnt so much about the extraordinary, evolved Aborigine culture. I have tried to weave the myths, magic and sacred information into a breathtaking adventure. I hope you enjoy The Codes of Power, pass the initiation and help the planet to ascend.
