The more we are immersed in the problems and difficulties of life, the more we tend to think we are alone, that we have to shoulder our burdens alone, and that only we can find a solution.
Endless hours of fretting and worrying ensue, often without us coming any closer to an answer that really works. Yet the answers truly are there. It's just that we’ve been looking in the wrong direction. Eileen Caddy is among those who have realised that, after all, we are not alone; that we are surrounded, all the time, by helping, healing energies, and that within us is the divine Itself, always ready to help and guide us, if only we ask! Such people have found that, when they consistently practise ‘tuning in’ to these helping energies, and bringing before them their problems - however mundane – clear, direct, practical answers are always given. Here are some examples:
Rise above circumstance Without faith you cannot travel this spiritual path. Without trust there is no love. Without love, life is empty. Open your heart and keep love flowing, no matter how difficult things may appear to be on the surface. Rise above your outer circumstances and conditions into those realms where all is light, all is peace, all is perfection, and there is no separation. You have to make the choice to do this, and then you have to do it.
Allow nothing from without to depress you. See that glorious silver lining behind every dark cloud and concentrate on that until the cloud is no more. Learn to soar like a lark, up, up into the heights, singing songs of praise and thanksgiving, and be not anchored to the things of the world, to the materialism in life. It is the things of the spirit that really matter, the things that are from everlasting to everlasting.
Start right now to live by the spirit and walk in the ways of the spirit. Let not your heart be troubled, put your whole faith and trust in Me, and be at perfect peace.
Without a worry in the world Be as wise as serpents, but as harmless as doves. Keep that centre within as still as a millpond so that you can reflect all the very best without any distortions, and then you will be able to radiate that very best without.
Allow nothing to distress or disturb you; simply know that all is working out perfectly and take it all in your stride without a worry in the world.
Learn to laugh at yourself, especially when you find yourself becoming too serious and weighed down by the things of the world. A good sense of humour will carry you over many a hurdle. When you find yourself becoming too serious, let go, relax, begin to enjoy life and you will find all strain and tension will vanish.
Stand back and look at yourself, and if you see yourself weighed down from carrying too heavy a burden on your shoulders, immediately release that burden and rest and relax. You will find you will be able to do far more in that state of rest and relaxation than when you are as taut as a piece of elastic, fully stretched and ready to snap.
You cannot do all you should be doing when you are strained. Take time to be alone and do something simple, something you enjoy doing. It does not matter what it is, but let it be something of your own choosing, not something someone else has suggested. As you do this you will find yourself able to see everything from a different level of consciousness; the weight will be lifted, and as a result you will find you are able to do far more. Strain holds you up.
Never try to look too far ahead; that in itself can cause great strain and distress. You can only take one step at a time, so take that one step and the next will follow at exactly the right time. Let things unfold and do not try to manipulate them. Do not get annoyed or impatient when things do not work out quite as you had expected and hoped, but instead look for and see the purpose and plan running through all that is taking place, and realise that all is for the very best.
Nothing is impossible You are never asked to do more than you are able without being given the strength and ability to do it. When I ask you to do what you consider impossible, never throw up your hands in despair but seek My help and let Me show you how to do it.
At the same time, realise that a child is not expected to do an adult-size job; that as you grow spiritually you will be able to undertake greater and even more seemingly impossible tasks, because you know and understand from where your strength and ability come, as you learn to draw on Me and not on your own strength. Know that with Me all things are possible. Let the new unfold and do not try to force it.
There shall be no more suffering There is no need for suffering in the new age. For those who are moving into the new, suffering is no more. If you still feel that suffering is necessary you are not of the new, but you are firmly stuck in the old. There you remain, drawing suffering to yourself until of your own free will you move on and accept that it is no more.
Concentrate on the wonders and joys of this life, and accept the very best which is your true heritage. This is not being an ostrich, afraid of life and not facing up to it. It is seeing the reality of this glorious life which is yours, and in doing so, helping to bring it about. The more clearly you see it, the more quickly will it come about.
Accept the vision of the new heaven and new earth, and hold it ever in your consciousness. Never let it go, thus helping to ground it and to give it form and substance. For this is no unattainable dream. This is reality, and you are all part of it. Give constant thanks for it.
