What is Cygnus Books?
Cygnus Books is a bookselling and information service like no other. Our aim is to help you find the inspiration and guidance you are looking for, as you search for new ways to heal your body, nourish your soul and live in a way that reflects your own deepest values. We do this in three ways:

1. By providing you with messages and features written to guide, uplift and inspire. You'll find hundreds of such messages and features in the resources section of this website (see menu on left of this page).
2. By selecting books and other items that we believe will help you grow, heal and savour the full 'juiciness' of life.
3. By publishing a free monthly magazine, the Cygnus Review.
   
   

Reduced prices
Cygnus operates as a book club, so that we can offer these books to you at reduced prices (20-50% off most titles). As a Cygnus member once said, this means you can 'feed your soul, without burning a hole in your pocket'! Now, if you've ever belonged to a book club before, you'll know that book clubs have rules. However, our rules are quite different! Based on freedom and responsibility, our rules ask simply that you:

1. Get in touch with us at least once a year, either by placing an order, or by letting us know in some other way that you still want to be a Cygnus member, such as sending a letter or email, or giving us a call.
2. Do what you can to 'keep the energy circulating', whether by buying our books, telling your friends about Cygnus, contributing to our Chat Page or just dropping us a line now and then.
3. Let us know if you no longer want to be a Cygnus member.

You'll be glad to know that there is no ordering commitment, and we have no 'book of the month' and no cards to return!

The Cygnus Review
Far more than just a catalogue, the Cygnus Review can be a real friend in times of need. Published monthly, the Cygnus Review is sent free of charge to all our members, many of whom tell us how incredibly its contents synchronise with things they need to know about, just at the moment when it arrives on their doormats! You'll find your heart warmed and your burdens lightened by special messages of encouragement and empathy written by the editors - Ann and Geoff Napier - and our regular contributors ? Diana Cooper, William Bloom and Mary Wainwright. You'll discover many important insights in the 2 or 3 full-length features chosen from the books we have on offer. And you?ll love our Chat Page on which we publish thoughts and poems written by members themselves, focusing on a different theme each month.

How we work
Until very recently Cygnus Books operated from an old farmhouse with outbuildings in Llangadog, Wales. Our editorial office remains there, while our own call centre, warehouse and management offices, with a team of 20 or so dedicated staff, every single one of whom cares very much about providing you with the highest standard of service possible, has now moved just a few miles away, to a lovely commercial unit in Llandeilo. Our magazine is produced by a Welsh printing company called Eclipse, on paper from responsibly managed forests, using vegetable-based inks which, according to our printer 'you could put in your tea'! Our envelopes are filled by people from the village of Llangadog, where the Cygnus editorial offices are situated.

Our business philosophy
Offering the Cygnus Review free of charge is our way of 'walking our talk' and of making a practical contribution, however tiny, to transforming the downward spiral generated by greed, exploitation and fear - which is having such disastrous effects on our precious planet - into the upward spiral created by generosity, trust and love. This is the philosophy we have been practising (and learning!) since Cygnus was established in 1991 and, so far, although we have had some difficult times, our trust that 'what goes around, comes around' has never let us down, and we have been rewarded by a huge amount of support and warmth from our members.
