2006 Issue 12: A LITTLE LIGHT ON ANGEL SYMBOLS

Dear Friends,

This month I’d like to share a few words about the symbols that the angels use to send messages to us.

White feathers
One of the first things the angels impressed on me when I wrote Angel Inspiration was that they often leave a little white feather to remind you of their presence.

Angels will sometimes waft a feather from one location to another, but more frequently they take one from the inner planes and manifest it into physicality. This explains how they can appear in closed cars or locked rooms, often to the wonder and disbelief of the person they are intended for.

Last summer friends of mine, two brothers, were staying at my home. I saw them sitting under the shade of a tree, deep in conversation. Later I was startled as they hurried inside and each took me by a hand. ‘Come and see!' they exclaimed, pulling me into the garden. Surrounding their chairs lay a perfect ring of pure white feathers! They told me that they had been discussing how to improve their relationship as brothers and felt the angels were blessing them. Neither had seen the feathers falling and in any case none could have done so under the canopy of leaves.

Ask for assistance
Angels will also indicate that they are happy to help you, by producing a white feather when you ask for assistance. A friend of mine, Charlotte, was playing a tennis match at her local club. She had to win in order to move into a higher league. When the score stood at one game all, she had a sudden feeling she could lose. Then she remembered to talk to the angels. Before serving she centred herself and asked her Guardian Angel to support her in playing to the best of her ability. As she offered up the prayer a white feather fell from nowhere and landed on her racquet! She knew then that she could do it. She won all the remaining games.

What if you find a coloured feather?
If you have posed a question or requested guidance, the angels may leave you a coloured feather. A red one will tell you to put some energy into the situation; an orange one to be more sociable and friendly; a yellow one to think carefully. When you see a green one it suggests you find equilibrium within yourself. A light blue one reminds you to communicate with the people concerned or about the situation, while a deeper blue indicates that healing is needed, so be prepared to receive it or give it. If you find a black feather it may warn you to be careful or it could ask you to use more feminine energy. A black and white one reminds you to open your mind to an expanded perspective.

Winged creatures
Winged creatures – birds, butterflies and dragonflies – carry much light and are often used by angels to bring messages. As I was writing this, outside in autumn sunshine, a beautiful tortoiseshell butterfly landed on my hand. Moments later a dragonfly hovered, then rested on my arm! I took this to mean that the angelic realms approved.

Birds, Divine Messengers
In her book Birds, Divine Messengers, Andrea Wansbury explains that different kinds of birds bring individual messages to you. I watched a nuthatch climbing up and down a pine tree in the garden and checked in her book what it was telling me. It was about decisions. It was suggesting that I reflected carefully before I took a significant one. It felt really important and I thanked the birds and the angels for the reminder.

Watch for clues
Remember there is an answer to every problem and if you ask for guidance, the angels will send you a sign. If you open a book, read carefully, for your solution may be encapsulated there. Or the words of a song may catch your attention, giving you hope or a clue to your dilemma. You may overhear a conversation outlining your perfect guidance. On occasion I have even been talking to someone about their problem and heard the solution to mine coming out of my mouth! The angels have magical ways of drawing things to your attention.

With love, Diana
